09 December 2018 IPS Community Note

Published: December 11, 2018

Dear IPS Families,

This is such an exciting year, and it is hard to imagine that Semester 1 is finishing and that January and 2019 are rapidly approaching.  As we wrap up the final days of Semester 1, please help us ensure all students are in attendance for each and every hour of each day.  Our focus will be on learning!

  • Grade 7-12 students are expected to sit for their exams as scheduled on the IPS Events and Activities Calendarwww.ipsksa.com . (16 Dec - 20th Dec )
  • A makeup exam period is scheduled for Thursday, December 20 at 3 pm for Grades 7-12.  Students failing to attend the regularly scheduled exam or the makeup exam will not receive credit for exams, which is 10% of the overall semester final grade. Please note there is only 1 period dedicated for 1 makeup exam, not multiple exams.  This makeup exam time is intended for students who may have an unexpected illness on an exam day.
  • The IPS Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is having their first meeting and it will be open to ALL families ( Fathers and Mothers included please!)
    • WHEN: Wednesday, 12th December
    • TIME: 5:00 pm- 6:00 pm (Before the Art Show)
    • WHERE: Gym
    • WHY: Information session on what the PTA is , and meet our parent committee!
  • Art Show: December 12 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, and December 13 from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm at the Eurovillage Cafe.
  • Stuco is hosting a father-son soccer tournament for Grades (3-8) on Saturday, December 15 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Students may either come with their father or a teacher (male). Please fill out this form if you're interested in joining. Keep in mind only the first 80 people who apply will get selected. A confirmation email will be sent to the selected participants.
  • (2019-2020) IPS Year Calendar will be posted on our website in January 2019 for your travel planning purposes.
  • As the weather cools, all students are reminded to wear school uniform.  This includes all outer clothing - perhaps it is time to “re-load” with some IPS gear. Heavy jackets/sweaters must be solid Navy if they are not ‘official’ school uniform.
  • Please come check the lost and found on both the boys’ and girls’ sides - lots of goodies here!

Semester 1 break for students and staff will begin on December 23 and school will resume on January 6, 2019.

Thank you for checking our website regularly: www.ipsksa.com

Please plan vacations and planned absences in accordance with the IPS school calendar, which can be found on our website, or picked up from the school office.

We hope EVERYONE enjoys the break. These will be very busy days before the short vacation - a rest will be well deserved! Thank you so much for being with us this year.
