Life in Saudi

I moved here 6 years ago with my husband and children and haven’t looked back since. I thought it would be a difficult transition but I can honestly say it isn’t bad at all. Just remember ladies, wear an abaya when you leave the compound. I wear the ones designed like dresses and don’t have to worry about wearing anything underneath. They are now making them in different colors so that’s a plus.

You will gain weight. There’s not much to do here besides shopping and eating out. Luckily, the compound has a gym. There are events every now and then on other compounds. Take advantage of them. You’ll get to experience different aspects of culture. It’s always fun to see. There’s a driver named Aziz who everybody and their mothers deal with. He knows all the ins and outs of Al-Khobar and I trust him to take my kids home alone. You will definitely meet him.

Working at I.P.S for 6 years has been quite an experience. I enjoyed meeting people from all walks of life and have made lifelong friends. The teachers and staff are mostly friendly and supportive. I.P.S has given us several opportunities to grow and develop. The students are great and most of the parents are supportive.

Welcome to Saudi. Enjoy the ride.
