Summary

Provides a stimulating, safe, and developmentally appropriate educational environment where children have the opportunity to develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills. Provides a block and lesson plan by which classes are conducted.

Job Duties

1. Be a passionate educator and ensure our Nursery's philosophy is reflected in daily practice.
2. Work with other educators to achieve excellence and maintain strong professional relationships with one another.
3. Help deliver a high-quality cycle of planning, curriculum and outcomes for each child in your room.
4. Create a friendly, secure and stimulating interactive learning environment.
5. Maintain positive working relationships with all team members.
6. Ensure a high level of health & safety standards are maintained at all times.
7. Critically reflect on you own practices and use this information to improve the quality of practices
8. Build strong partnerships and relationships with all children and their families
9. Be an advocate for children (their rights and their protection)
10. Record keeping and progress tracking
11. Progress report preparation
12. Provide guidance and support to learning assistants 
13. Be open to support in any task related to children when the need arises especially when working with babies and toddlers
14.  ( such as feeding, sleeping, nappy change)
15. Attend Professional Development sessions scheduled on Saturdays

Qualifications and Knowledge

Bachelor degree: (Qualified in Early Education and Care or a bachelor degree + an Early childhood certificate)

Experience and Skills

1. Passionate and committed to high quality of early childhood and education
2. Working with children check
3. Good computer skills
4. Strong verbal and written English skills
5. Previous experience working in a similar setting is desirable
