Announcement 05: School Uniform

We are pleased to introduce our school uniform for the academic year 2026-2027  As part of our continuous efforts towards enhancement, the school administration has chosen to unveil a uniform design that embodies our school's ethos and proudly displays our name. This updated uniform maintains our commitment to high-quality standards and is produced by one of the world's leading manufacturers.

Our students are proud to wear their IPS uniforms, embodying our school’s principle of presenting ourselves respectfully and professionally. At IPS we believe that a student’s appearance has an impact on his/her attitudes and behaviors. School pride, respect for the school community, the education process, and the students themselves, are in part.

To this end:

  • Our school policy is that all children wear a school uniform to school and school related activities.
  • Students are regularly rewarded for the neat manner in which they represent their school through the House points system.
  • The first 5 days of the academic year will be given as a grace period for students and parents to obtain uniforms from providers ZAKS
  • Students out of uniform after that 5 day grace period will be subject to school discipline policy.

Purpose of the Uniform Policy for IPS Students

  • To have IPS students wear uniforms to enhance school pride, unity, and community spirit.
  • To encourage a sense of community and equality among IPS students.
  • To minimize distractions and focus IPS students on academic and personal development.
  • To represent the values and standards of IPS in the wider community.
  • To establish consistency among IPS students, reducing peer pressure and bullying.
  • To prevent distractions in class.

Uniform Guidelines

  1. The expectations will be made explicit to students new to IPS and to families during the admission procedure and beginning-of-year communications.
  2. The policy will be explicitly presented in staff orientation week and published in the IPS Family Handbook and in all admission materials.
  3. IPS Students must wear full uniform at all times whether at school or at school functions
  4. IPS students must wear school uniforms at all times at school or at school functions. Only items sold by IPS, the authorized distributor of IPS Uniforms and approved by the administration are permitted.
  5. As part of our respect for the school and its image, students are required to wear well-maintained uniforms.
  6. It is the parent's responsibility to scrutinize the uniform before the student leaves for school.
  7. In exceptional cases, such as a foot injury, burglary etc. a letter of explanation will be required from the parent. Supporting documentation will need to be included e.g. doctor’s note.
  8. Only IPS-branded clothing is allowed; non-IPS hoodies, or jackets are not permitted.
  9. Students may wear closed-toe footwear, and no sandals or slides of any type are permitted.
  10. Administrators and teachers will monitor compatibility with the student dress expectations.
  11. When dress style is not compatible with the above expectations, the given school principal will be informed and may exercise any suitable sanctions as required.

Sanctions encompass the following steps:

  • Step 1: Oral and written warnings and we will keep the hoody at the admin till the end of the day.
  • Step 2: Communicate and notify the parents.
  • Step 3: We will not allow her in the class before her parents bring her another thing to wear.
  • Step 4: After school detention
  • Step 5: Removal from classroom
  • Step 6: On report
  • Step 7: Community service
  • Step 8: Suspension
  • Step 9: Loss of privileges
  • Step 10: Detentions
  1. If the violation is with inappropriate dress then we take immediate action from the first time but calling the parents and waiting for them to bring the school uniform so she can change.
  2. Further complaints will be grounds for disciplinary action which may include:
  • Students may be sent home to change or asked to remain in the office for the day when not in proper uniform.
  • Repeat offenders may be served in-school suspension.
  1. All students must wear the school PE kit, including a T-shirt with the school logo, tracksuit pants, and appropriate athletic shoes.
  2. When representing the School, whether that be on a school trip or associated activity, or while on the school campus, it is important that students take pride in their appearance.
  3. On non-uniform days, students are asked to wear clothing that is modest and respectful of our school culture. Clothing with offensive messaging is prohibited.

All students must wear the school uniform every day. We look forward to seeing our students wear their uniforms with pride and positivity, reflecting our shared values and commitment to excellence.
