Dear Parents,

We are delighted to announce that IPS Reads Week will take place from February 2nd to February 6th! This special week is dedicated to celebrating the joy and importance of reading, with the goal of inspiring students to develop a lifelong love for books.

Throughout the week, students will engage in fun and meaningful activities designed to make reading an enjoyable and enriching experience. These activities will foster imagination, expand vocabulary, and strengthen critical thinking skills.

Here is the exciting lineup of activities planned for IPS Reads Week:

• February 2nd, 2025: D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read) Time – Students will pause their routine to enjoy uninterrupted reading time, promoting focus and the habit of independent reading.
• February 3rd, 2025: Buddy Reading – Older and younger students will pair up to read together, building friendships and encouraging cooperative learning.
• February 4th, 2025: Read Aloud Day – Teachers and guest readers will bring stories to life, sparking imagination and listening skills.
• February 5th, 2025: Character Parade – Students are invited to dress up as their favorite book characters, fostering creativity and connecting personally with stories.
• February 6th, 2025: Poetry Slam – A celebration of expression where students can share original or favorite poems, enhancing confidence and public speaking skills.

 By working together, we can inspire curiosity, creativity, and a deeper understanding of the world through reading.

Announcement 02 : KAUST Gifted Student Program (KGSP) 2025 Applications Open

Dear Parents,

We are pleased to inform you that the KAUST Gifted Student Program (KGSP) 2025 has officially opened its applications. Below are the key details and important points about this prestigious opportunity:

About the KGSP:

The KGSP is a distinguished scholarship and fellowship program designed to identify and support exceptional Saudi high school students with a focus on STEM fields. Selected students will attend top global universities for undergraduate studies and later join KAUST for graduate studies, preparing them for successful careers within the Kingdom and internationally.

Key Details for Applicants:

1. Application Period:
   • Applications are open from January 12, 2025, and will close on February 3, 2025.
   • Students have three weeks to complete their applications, which include essays, test scores (SAT and TOEFL/IELTS), supporting documents, and recommendation letters.
   • Late applications will not be considered.
2. Eligibility Criteria:
   • Students must meet the minimum test score requirements:
     • SAT: 1350 (minimum 700 in SAT Math)
     • TOEFL IBT: 90 or IELTS Academic: 7.0
3. Global University Admissions:
   • Starting with Cohort 17, students must gain direct admission to an acceptable undergraduate program at a MOE-approved university, with emphasis on the Arruaad pathway institutions.
   • The selected field of study must align with one of KAUST's 16 graduate fields or the Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship (TIE) Master's program.
4. Application Fee:
   • There is no application fee for Cohort 17 applicants.
5. Interview Process:
   • Interviews will take place between February 9, 2025, and March 6, 2025.
6. Scholarship and Induction:
   • Admitted students will secure their university place by paying a deposit (non-refundable) and will receive assistance in securing their Ministry of Education (MOE) scholarship. A KGSP induction will also be provided.
