I am writing to you in specific reference to the current regional situation and to provide further clarification and reassurance.
Firstly, as a school proudly operating under the esteemed authority of the Ministry of Education, we are required to align fully with the Ministry’s informed and wise directives regarding school closures/online learning or continued opening. IPS is not permitted to make an independent decision to close the school, nor to remain open if the Ministry directs otherwise. We remain in close and continuous communication with the Ministry and will always inform you immediately upon receiving any official guidance, even in situations where such official communication may occur very late in the evening or early morning.
Secondly, I would also like to take this opportunity to offer you further reassurance that the school maintains comprehensive and carefully developed plans for a wide range of potential scenarios, including those which, whilst unlikely, require us to be fully prepared. These plans remain fully aligned with international best practice and with the expectations of our national authorities.
All staff are informed of their roles and responsibilities within these procedures, and senior leaders are trained to coordinate and guide any response in a calm, orderly, and controlled manner. This ensures that, should any situation ever arise, it can be managed with clarity, professionalism, and confidence, without confusion or unnecessary concern.
In addition, please be assured that we will continue to keep you fully informed at all times regarding any actions taken and the exact procedures in place at the given time for any given scenario. Clear and timely communication with parents & guardians is a central part of our responsibility, and you will always receive appropriate updates, guidance, and reassurance so that you remain fully aware, fully supported, and fully confident in our response. Equally, we remain fully aligned with official authority at all times and will continue to act upon formal directives as required.
