Summary

To work in collaboration with Senior Management to provide quality health care and intervene with actual and potential health problems, promote health and safety, including a healthy environment.

Job Duties

Provides health care services for acute and chronic illness and injuries

Develop and implement a plan for safe administration of medication

Communicates health – related findings and makes recommendations to faculty for student’s welfare

 Collaborates with teachers, counselors, and principals for students who has health  conditions for further assessment, observation and  evaluation of treatment given

Participates/contributes to the development of emergency plan procedures and school health protocols

Maintains health records in SNAP including tracking down illnesses and injuries with back up paper files

Maintains clinic supplies and first aid kits available to all classrooms

Conduct routine head checks for lice to all grade levels following school protocol

Compiles and record student vaccination in SNAP and identifies students with missing or incomplete records

Facilitate in the Immunization  program  given by the Ministry of Health

Regular rounds for health and safety issues and identify priority needs

Advising the principal and family on exclusion and readmission of students in connection with infectious diseases

Disseminates information promoting health, safety,  preventive and control measures of infectious diseases

Communication with parents on matters pertaining to illness, injury or absences. 

Provides health-related education to students and staff in individual and group settings

 Engaging in research and evaluation of school health services

 Keeping a record and report statistical data of clinic visits to the Administration 

Coordinate visits with agencies and professional healthcares for school staff and students

Follow procedure for suspected cases of child abuse and neglect

Perform additional related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Knowledge

Bachelor degree (minimum) 

Possess basic pharmacological knowledge and experience relevant to meet the needs of the community within the school setting.                 

Experience and Skills

Clear and concise writing ability.

Good communication skills and able to make presentations comfortably.

Good interpersonal skills to work with faculty and administration.

Ability to assess emergency situations and act accordingly.

Comfortable knowledge of universal procedures and ability to use clinic/medical equipment.

Independent working habits, ability to analyze and synthesize.

Strong organizational skills and positive, cooperative attitude.
